For the most recent episode of History Impossible, we looked at the life of Simo Häyhä, better known as The White Death, and the epic conflict in which he played a part known as the Winter War. Finding English language sources for Simo's life was tough, but thankfully there were many on the Winter War itself, both that were directly quoted in the episode and those that were not.
1. Tapio Saarelainen, The White Sniper: Simo Häyhä, 2016
2. William R. Trotter, Frozen Hell: The Russo-Finnish Winter War of 1939-1940, 1991
3. Henrik O. Lunde, Finland's War of Choice: The Troubled German-Finnish Coalition in World War II, 2011
4. Vesa Nenye, Peter Munter, Toni Wirtanen, Chris Burks, Finland at War: The Winter War of 1939-40, 2015
5. Ian McCollum, Forgotten Weapons: Finnish Mosin-Nagant Overview (M91/24, M27, M28, M28/30, M39, 2017
And for an added bonus, the always-amusing Markus Meechan (better known as Count Dankula) dedicated an 8-minute episode of his "Absolute Mad Lads" series to the great Simo. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzlILjFqZlo
